Blue cloth boards with gilt lettering to spine, rubbing and bumping to spine ends, spine is slightly bowed, sticker ghost to head of rear board. Minor foxing to top edge. Dust jacket is price clipped, sunned to spine and edges, a few small chips to spine ends, rubbing to spine, small perforation to rear joint. Text is bright and clean. This survey of English non-dramatic literature in the period of 1600-60 is, in accordance with the editors' conception, an account--on a small scale--not merely of works of literary art but of the full written expression of culture and thought. It is addressed to the general reader as well as the student.
