This is the original 1879 book - not a modern reprint or facsimile. Blind-stamped decoration on dark-brown boards (gilt lettering on spine). Boards are clean, show light wear (rubbing/bumping at corners and top and bottom of spine). Previous owner's bookplate in book front on blank page with his signature on the bookplate (Rev. O.E. Baker - Meadville Theological School). No writing or tears inside book. Tight spine, clean pages. 260 pages. Pages show tanning - no foxing. Nice, clean condition 149-year-old book. .
