Burgundy cloth in mylar-covered dustjacket. Worn bottom rear corner. Small tear at bottom front of jacket and slight crumpling of rear. Front flap price clipped. Pages 26 to 29 have previously adhered together.
Romain de Tirtoff (1892 1990) was a Russian-born French artist and designer known by the pseudonym Erté, the French pronunciation of his initials, R.T. He was a diversely-talented artist and designer who flourished in an array of fields, including fashion, jewelry, graphic arts, costume and set design, and interior décor. In the 1920s he was the only top Paris designer who illustrated his own costumes, most of the illustrations appearing in Harper's Bazar. The illustrations reproduced here depict everything from ball gowns to swimwear - everything a woman needed to be fashionable in early 20th-century.

Bound in the publisher's original gray cloth covers, this is a nice clean, tight and unmarked book with no interior or exterior markings with the exception of a small black remainder stripe on the bottom edge near the spine. The dust jacket in similarly nice condition with just a little wear but no significant chips, tears, or markings.
