Originally built as a refrigerated cargo/passenger liner Vindex was converted to an Escort Carrier as no aircraft carriers were spare for the mid Atlantic air defence of merchant shipping. Pitted against U-boats in the Atlantic and then in the Artic the Vindex and 825 squadron were a successful combination. 216 pages with black and white illustrations on 84 pages. Book in as new condition. Dust jacket in near fine condition.
