The author studies these Hispanic immigrants who arrived in Veracruz mainly between 1780 and 1820 in search of investment opportunities and social promotion. For this he analyzed the types of migration, economic activities, family ties, peasantry, and compadrazgos that allowed them to insert themselves into society xalapeña and consolidate as part of the local elite.
