London: The Fortune Press, 1928. 183p., a fine big octavo in 9.5x6.5 inch boards gilt, cloth a kind of pleasant oilcloth spine-titled bronze; the bronze a little dimmed with age, perfectly legible. One of an extremely limited run, only seventy, this unnumbered. Thick handmade paper throughout with rubricated titlepage, photographic frontis portrait, top edge rufus-sprinkled, fore and bottom edges heavily deckled and slightly spotted with foxing. Nice copy, very sound, tight and square, no ownership or other markings, the frontis tissue-guard was laid in loose but is still in good shape though toned. Lit crit including a discussion of de Sade (22p.) occasioned by Summers' reading of Henry James Jr.'s The Middle Years and James' account of a luncheon with the Tennysons and Mrs Greville, who was related to de Sade. Only one luncher knew the scandal of the name; Tennyson appeared to know nothing and care less.
