first edition. With 32 coloured plates by H.M. Livens and 40 illustrations in monotone. xii, 431 pp + 2 pp ads. Frontispiece, & 31 other beautiful colour plates. 40 b/w plates. Contents include: No I London & Picadilly, The London Museum, Trafalgar Square & Great Englishmen, Some Statues of London, The National Gallery, The Strand & Convent Garden, Fleet Street & Dr Johnson, A Medley of Churches, The Royal Mint & New Scotland Yard, Whitechapel & Charles Dickens, Holburn Bloomsbury & Sydney Smith, The Tate Gallery, Westminister & Whitehall, Kensington etc. Some light foxing on prelims and intermittently in text. Spots of light foxing on edges. Red cloth boards with gilt lettering on spine and blindstamp lettering on front board. Top and bottom of spine and corners lightly rubbed. Overall condition VG. No dust wrapper.
