About This Item

Hollywood: The Arts, Sciences and Professions Council, 1950. Pamphlet. 14p. staplebound pamphlet, 5.25x8 inches, very good. Also included is a signed photograph of Sondergaard. Sondergard, a well-known actress, was married to Herbert Biberman, one of the Hollywood 10. Maltz was also one of the Hollywood 10. Sondergaard speaks of her past role playing the wife of the unjustly accused Alfred Dreyfus. "I chose to play Mrs. Dreyfus. I enjoyed playing her. I did not choose to play this role today, and I do not enjoy it. But having to play it, I will play it with all the initiative and tenacity and effectiveness I can command." *Seidman S285.
