Discovery Ship "Resolute" to the Arctic Regions in Seach of Sir John Franklin and the Missing Crews of H.M. Discovery Ships "Erebus" and "Terror" 1852, 1853, 1854. To which is added An Account of Her Being Fallen In with by an American Whaler after Her Abandonment in Barrow Straits, and of Her Presentation to Queen Victoria by the Government of the United States." Ex-public library copy in orange quarter-leather library binding with replaced end-papers, spine ends are rubbed and covers are darkened. binding is sound. Large pasted library label on inside of front cover, stamps on reverse of title-page. Small library stamps on reverse of plates which are otherwise clean, between woodcut and Chapter title on page 3 and occasionally elsewhere in margins. Fold-out coloured "Chart to Illustrate the Narrative of the Voyage of H.M. Ship Resolute, Captn Henry Kellett C.B." with light wear at edges and pasted strip on rear, is a little darkened but otherwise clean, contains all 8 chromolithograph plates with tissue protection leaf, black and white inset woodcut illustrations.
