Hugh Ruttledge (1884-1961) British Civil Servant, mountaineer and leader of two expeditions to Everest. This, the fourth British expedition, included none who had been on the 1924 attempt. In 1934 Ruttledge was awarded the RGS Founder’s Gold Medal, and went on to lead the 1936 sixth expedition.

Uncommon in dust wrapper.
