London: Charles Skilton, 1950. 4to size clothbound hardcover with dust jacket; 95 pages plus glossy pages with black and white illustrations; red topstain. From jacket: "(The author's) study of the English Bible over a number of years, both as a collector and student, has produced an engrossing survey of its history from its inception up to the present day. This value of this work is enhanced by the carefully chosen illustrations, selected mainly from his own collection of Bibles, which includes first edition of the major English Reformation version." Jacket is colored with mylar (but is NOT ex-library); Errata pasted into fep. Name on fep, two tiny tears to inside jacket flap. . Cloth. Very Good/Good. 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall.
