Harper & Brothers, London and New York, 1906. Hardcover. Condition: Near Fine. 1st Edition. 109 pp. Text is illustrated with b/w bookplates for each text page. Text is clean and unmarked, but slightly tanned. Small sticker naming the bookseller on front pastedown. Prior owner attribution on front free endpaper. Near fine condition in the publisher's original red pictorial cloth with white titling. Minor sun-fading to the spine and top edge of front cover. A comical telling of Eve's time in the Garden of Eden and what came after. One of Mark Twain's more scarce books. It has been alleged that this book was a tribute to Twain's late wife, Olivia, who died in 1904.
