New York, New York, USA: Alfred A. Knopf, 1971. CE5 - A hard cover first edition withdrawn ex-library book in good+ condition. Stated first edition with no additional printings indicated. A tight, clean, sound copy in black cloth covered boards with gold lettering on the spine with some very, very ilght bumping of the right board corners plus there is a strip of paper and glue residue (about 1.5") along the front spine edge plus there is some light glue staining along the bottom spine edge plus there is some tape staining on the front and back outside board surfaces and free endpapers from where the dust jacket was taped to the boards plus there are the usual library stamps, label, and pocket on the top and bottom outside paper edges, the front and back free endpapers, the title page, and the first page of the acknowledgments. The dust jacket shows very minor overall shelf wear with some very light edge wear along the top and bottom spine edges plus there is some very, very light fading on the spine plus it is still in the original library mylar sleeve. A historical narrative of the efforts to understand how the brain and nervous system function, and how they control life, thought, and personality. References, indexed, 360p.. First Edition. Hard Cover. Good/Good. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Ex-Library.
