Bowyer Productions. DVD. New. Route 66 is one of the most famous highways in the United States. Established in 1926, this highway originally ran from Chicago, Illinois to Santa Monica, California just north of Los Angeles. Route 66 served as a primary route for Americans migrating west, especially during the 'Dust Bowl' years in the Great Depression during the 1930s. The movie, The Graps of Wrath, shows scenes of Route 66 from that era. This video is a nostalgia trip starting at the Continental Divide in New Mexico and traveling west to Santa Monica and the Pacific Ocean. This is the most interesting segment of the highway. Along the way this video documents the remaining locations and attractions that made Route 66 a famous travel destination. David Bowyer Productions, 65 minutes, Color video and Narration.
