Vol. 9 is present in 2 books, and contained in portfolio case Nos. 9 and 11. Shipping weight is 75 pounds. Essays and text as follows: Art and Architecture, by W. Walton ; Applied Art, by V. Champier ; Centennial and Retrospective, by A. Saglio. Each vol. has special t.p.: Chefs d'oeuvre of the Exposition universelle./ "Edition on Whatman drawing paper, with the textual illustrations finished in facsimile; only one hundred complete copies printed for sale"--Page [5] preceding title page. This set being No. 21, printed for Harriett Pullman Carolan. Contents as follows: Vols. 1-2. The art of France -- v. 3. The United States and Great Britain -- v. 4. Germany, Austria, and Hungary -- v. 5. Russia, minor European, and Oriental -- v. 6. Italy, Spain, Portugal, Central and South America -- v. 7. Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Holland, Belgium, and Switzerland -- v. 8. Retrospective and centennale collections -- v. 9. The decorative arts -- v. 10. Architecture. Condition Notes: Volume 1 with missing portfolio case and damage to spine paper (still present), foxing spots to cover. There is staining to the page edges of about half the portfolios from ancient exposure to moisture. This staining hardly extends into the page in almost all instances. Each volume / portfolio measures approximately 16" x 12.5" and about 1" thick.
