About This Item
Waterloo, Ontario, Canada: Wilfrid Laurier University Press, 1981. This is a history of the development of philosophy as an academic discipline in British Canada during its first 100 years, from the publication of James Beaven's Elements of Natural Theology in 1850 until the mass immigration of philosophers from abroad after World War II changed its character; it includes those philosophers whose writing was extensive and covered a variety of topics; includes portraits of six philosophers by Kathryn Cole (bright yellow cloth with black lettering, inscribed by one of the co-authors and dated June, 1982, on the front endpaper; two very small cuts on edges of front and back covers and indentation in bottom edge of textblock, otherwise both cover and text are in excellent condition). Inscribed By Author. Hard Cover. Very Good/No Jacket.
