Illustrated with 61 black and white plates. Bound in flexible red cloth with titles present to the spine. Boards have wear present to the extremities of the boards. Previous owner's name present to the half-title page. Text is clean and free of marks. Binding tight and solid. Fisher has assembled a series of essays on the Island of Hokkaido, Japan and the city of Sapporo. The author was associated with the Franciscan Missionaries. The photos are an excellent visual account of Hokkaido and Sapporo after the war. "Last Bear Hunt", "Ainu Bear Festival" and "Hokkaido Bear Carvers" are among the chapters. Of interest is the fact that the booklet was completely printed by Japanese women, none of whom spoke English. E-130; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 159 pages .
