Fahrenheit 451 by BRADBURY RAY - 1954

London: Rupert Hart Davis, 1954. First Edition. Hard Cover. Dust Jacket. First UK Edition. Publisher's red boards with silver spine lettering 158 pages. Boards really bright and clean. There are a couple of foxing spots to the fore-edge and dustiness to the top edge. The book is firmly bound in lightly marked red cloth lettered in bright silver to the spine. The front and rear paste-downs are partially foxed and there is light offsetting to both sets of end-papers. No bumping to the boards. No inscriptions. Overall a VG++ copy. The dust wrapper is the original and not price-clipped and is priced at 9s 6d net to the inside flap (as called for). The near fine D/W has a pin-prick sized nick to the left hand edge of the front panel. Highly unusually, the SPINE is substantially UN-FADED, though the fore-edge of the book appears to have been exposed to light and so the edges of the D/W around the flap folds are slightly sunned. No rubbing or soiling. No tears or wear. Bradbury’s dystopian modern classic that is in substantially better condition than most encountered. It is difficult to find with an un-faded spine; I can only recall one other example as un-faded as this one in the last 25 years. A lovely collector's copy. Photographs/scans available upon request.
