The colors are bright and strong. The boards are slightly cupped. This is an extremely collectible book, fairly rare and will make a great addition to your collection.

Black and White Illustrations and 5 folding color Pop-up pages by publisher and printer Ernest Nister (1842-1909) who specialized in colored toy and movable picture books. In addition to the pop-up pages, the book contains Animal Stories by L. L. Weedon, Clifton Bingham, and Ruth Deane with pen and ink illustrations. No dust jacket. The colored pictorial boards are lightly soiled, have some scratches, and edge wear. The hinges on the front and back boards have been reinforced. All of the pop-ups are original and complete in excellent condition. Some of the tabs have been re-glued or, in a few cases, a new one added for a missing tab. Overall, a very nice copy of one of the classic, innovative animated books by the famous English publisher Ernest Nister.

Unpaginated (14) with black and white images within the text and 6 colour moveable pictures each activated by a tab. The images illustrate, Little Red Riding Hood, Humpty Dumpty, Little Bo-Peep, Hey Diddle Diddle, Mother Hubbard and The Three Bears. As the tab is pulled, the first colour illustration lifts to reveal a second colour illustration and as the tab is pulled again, a third and final colour illustration is revealed. The boards have a little rubbing with minor loss to the spine tips and a little rounding to the corners with a few scratches to the boards. Internally there is reinforcement to both hinges. There is a little uniform toning to the pages. All the pictures are complete and 5 of the 6 are in full working order with the Little Bo-Peep images not lifting without help. Folding Books Ltd. Very Good; Boards modestly worn and splayed, owner name and April 1962 date inked on rear cover. A pop-up book with six scenes from the Puss in Boots fairy tale. Illustrated in color by Kathleen Hale, famous for her Orlando the Marmalade Cat children's series. The pop-ups are all vibrant, clean, and in good working order. They open up into a decorative "carousel" which can be tied by the blue ribbons bound into the illustrated paper-covered boards. 16mo 6" - 7" tall .
