Engraved illustrations by Richard Doyle. Top corner of title page torn and remains attached to the ajacent page. Prior owners book plate "Philip J. A. Harper" (1824- 1896) son of James who founded Harper & Brothers Publishers & was Mayor of New York ; B&W illustrations; 12mo 7" - 7½" tall; 351 pages .
