1842 FAMOUS Commentary on US Constitution LAW Joseph Story Colonial Americana
Joseph Story was a well-known, early 19th-century American lawyer known primarily for his 'Commentary on the United States Constitution'. When it was first published in 1833, this work was the second comprehensive look at the U.S. Constitution and the establishment of American government and law.
This work includes a variety of topics other than simply a treatise on the American Constitution. Story provides a clear but general history of the American colonies, the American Revolution, constitutional amendments, and the flaws in the Articles of the Confederation.
This 1842 printing was published for the Massachusetts Board of Education, part a collection of important American books.
