London: Cassell, 1900. Hardcover. Good. The complete four volumes, bound as two. Handsome quarter leather binding of of Swaysland's comprehensive, readable and generously illustrated guide to wild birds. Each entry has a full page colour plate and usually two b/w sketches, plus decorated initial. Top edge gilt. Gilt and blind-stampped decoration to spine. No date but c. 1900. Red cloth boards have some fading, marking and staining. Rubbing to leather and small tear to top of volume I. Very light. occasional foxing within, otherwise clean and prim. Good condition.
