London: Harvey and Darton, 1823 A fair copy in contemporary full leather binding. Written as an instructive book for children, describing areas and items of interest in Britain. Classed as 'fair' because it is missing the map. The binding has been rebacked to provide a new spine and title label, at some point. The boards are clean, with some scuffing and wear to corners. There is a bookplate of the 'Dorset Collection' to the front pastedown together with an ink line '14 Charlotte Square'. With title page dated 1823; 2 page preface; text 454pp; notes and itinerary 11pp. There are 2 ink inscriptions to the top of the first text page - one dated 1826 and the other 1856 'in remembrance of dear Papa'. Text is in generally good condition with just the occasional light mark.
