Pp xxviii, 95 with an title-page vignette 'Industry' showing a bower with bee-skep and, also engraved, a fruit-bowl tailpiece. 1840 signature of one Harriet Carpenter to the vertically creased front free endpaper; occasional light internal spotting, and rubs to spine and board corners, otherwise very good in contemporary full morocco/gilt spine title & decorations/gilt logos to both front and back boards/all edges gilt. An uncommon Provincial printing of this classic.. First Edition Thus?. Full morocco/gilt. Good. 12mo.

London: Baldwin, Cradock & Joy, 1827. A rural poem depicting four seasons in the life of a farmer's boy. Hard cover,18 cm. /6 1/4 inches, lii,79 pages. Full calf with complex design on both covers: five gilt borders surrounding four blind ones, anchored by and gilt decorative corners. Spine with three frames, the centre one containing the title. Edges marbled. Engraved frontispiece and four additional engravings drawn by Richard Westhall , R.A and engraved by F. Engleheart. Fifteenth edition with an extensive preface by Capel Lofft (1751-1824) who first read Bloomfieds' MS. and introduced the poem to the public. Nice-looking cover in very good condition. In the text there is foxing on the pages containing the engravings for each season, but only the occasional spot elsewhere. . Full Calf. Very Good/No Jacket. Illus. by R. Westhall. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall.
