Bound in full brown morocco, upper cover with bevelled edges and large rectangular calf inset, with elaborate pictorial design in relief, showing two devils playing with a heart, while an angel covers her face, labelled "Marguerite et Faust"; spine in four compartments with three double raised bands, cover edges gilt, turn-ins blind-tooled with blue and green morocco onlays, linings of blue and white satin embroidered with green silk and gilt thread in a floral design, a.e.g., original wrappers bound in, by Salvator David. Perforated library-stamp and ink accession number on t.p., and p. 15; jointst slightly rubbed, inner hinges starting. In morocco-tipped slipcase.
