New York: Dodd, Mead & Company, 1918. Very Good 1918 First Edition. With 16 pencil drawings by Cram (printed in black on pale pink backgrounds). A nicely preserved copy in moderately worn but still attractive green cloth cover with pictorial stamping in black and gold on front cover. The only markings are to front and rear free endpapers; rubber stamped "Please Return to Publicity Department" and a name penned twice on the rear end. Pages and illustration plates are in very good condition, slight edge toning a few scattered spottings and pencil underlinings (easily erased) and faint damp staining to bottom edges of a few leaves, not affecting text or art, corner torn on one leaf. Cover is moderately worn, spine ends and corners bumped with some fraying started. The spine cloth and stamping has faded and there is a short tear to the cloth. Binding and hinges are intact and square; front hinge is slightly loose, rear hinge tight; no cracks or splits or loose pages. 5-3/4 x 9". x + 331 text pages and 16 illustration plates..
