The BOOK is in near Fine condition with just light fading to the board edges and light pushing to the lower corners. 7 x 5 1/2 inches, 72-pages. Original black cloth-backed blue boards. Gilt titling very bright. Internally excellent, the woodcuts bright and clean with none of the toning and spotting that is usually encountered. The very scarce WRAPPER is complete and is in near FINE condition.A little marking in places to the front cover but none of the usual tanning to the spine. The wrapper looks very attractive in the removable Brodart archival cover. The book has been Signed By Martin Armstrong to the front blank end-paper:'Grace, with love , from Martin'.A collection of epigrams and epitaphs serious and comic by Martin Armstrong with engravings by Eric ravilious. Each page has an epigram / epitaph which is accompanied by a wonderful Ravilious engraving.
