Methuen, London, 1952. First Edition (first printing). 8vo. 218pp. Brown boards lettered in red at the spine. Top edge lightly spotted and dust soiled. A very crisp and bright if perhaps slightly dusty copy in slightly dust soiled and edge worn non-price-clipped dust wrapper, with several tiny slivers of jagged loss from the spine ends. The author's celebrated sixth novel (Narayan's friend and mentor Graham Greene was instrumental in arranging publication of his first four novels). Wobbe B28.. 1st Edition. Hardcover. Very Good/Good.
