Sea Weed, Sea-weed: Not Appropriate, 1860. No date but the nature of the thick gilt-edged card and manuscript notes suggest Victorian and probably around 1860. 39 sea-weed specimens, each individually mounted, with manuscript latin names below, onto uniform, dark-green display cards (63 x 103mm) with thick gilt edges, and rounded corners. The specimens are generally in a good state of preservation, several with a little lose or rubbing. The paper mounts are variously foxed and marked. A few cards are lightly worn and marked. A very good collection. [Note it would seem that these are the surviving cards of a larger collection, as several cards have residual specimens to the back, which appear to have been transferred from other cards, presumably when the cards were stacked, but none of these cards with missing specimens are extant.]. First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good/No Dust Jacket.
