n.p.: Privately Printed, 1920. Hardcover. Very Good+. [ vi], 26, [4] pp. Excerpt from Mark Twain A Biography, by Albert Bigelow Paine. Paine became Twain's literary executor, and lived with Twain in Redding, Connecticut. In 1906, Twain began dictating his autobiography to him; during the process,Twain acknowledged authorship of this fragment which he titled 'Conversation as it was at the Social Fireside in the time of the Tudors.' It was considered obscene and thus unpublishable, but was printed in several private editions. Dark blue cloth, title gilt. Light foxing to endpapers, a touch of wear at corners.
