About This Item
Vermont Historical Society, 1949. Hard Cover. Near Fine/No Jacket. No jacket. A very nice copy. 1949 Hard Cover. 280 pp. "The primary object of this book is to give intimate details of the activities of a prosperous and long-lived country medical college as a basis of understanding the operation and the many difficulties encountered by institutions of this type. Furthermore, although attention is focused primarily on the Castleton Medical Academy, reference to similar institutions are included, as is discussion of the conditions that applied generally to all rural (as distinguished from urban) medical colleges of the pre-War-Between-the-States period. The manner of presentation is interesting, and the author has made an excellent and well documented contribution in fulfilling these objectives.
