Black and white map, 24 x 19 3/4 inches on sheet size 25 1/2 x 20 3/4 inches, originally published folding into paper covers, now professionally mounted on linen backing. Light wear to some folds, overall very good condition. The map itself does not have a title, but the following text at upper left: "Knowlson & Muller Publishers of Books and Maps for Fisherment and Yachtsmen, Room 4, Eagle Building, Brooklyn, N.Y." At the lower edge of the map is advertising for "Maps with Soundings of Jamaica Bay - City Island Waters" and "Fishing Directory, The Fishermans' Friend." On the map area names are noted, along with geographical features such as Points, Ports, and beacons. It is advertised on page 88 of The Fisherman's Friend 1903 edition. There are records for two other Knowlson & Muller publications on WorldCat, one, "Fishing around New York" with a copyright date of 1909 and the other "Deep Sea Fishing Grounds, Fire Island to Barnegat" with a copyright date of 1915. No record was located for the Staten Island map on WorldCat.

On the back cover of the paper wrappers is a list of three fishing maps, of City Island Waters, Staten Island Waters and Jamaica Bay. The inside cover of the wrappers gives details on places to fish in Staten Island Waters: "There is hardly a foot of the Staten Island shore along which some fishing may not be obtained..." .
