Bound in original half morocco boards with matching marble boards, five raised bands along spine in six compartments. Tooled gilt lettering along spine. Matching marbled inside covers and free endpapers. Title in red and black. Illustrated by Louis Chalon. Volume I has nine illustrations including frontis. Volume II has six illustrations. Translated into English by Sir Thomas Urquhart of Cromarty and Peter Antony Motteux. Introduction by Anatole de Montaiglon. Shelfwear: light scuffing along edges and cover boards, moderate fraying at cover corners and spine edges, light tanning along page edges. Both volumes are tightly bound, with no marks. Volumes are in Very Good-plus condition..

London: Lawrence and Bullen, 1892. 1st English Edition. Green Silk. Very Good Minus/No Wrapper. 4to - over 9¾" - 12" Large. Chalon, Louis . Type: Z A two volume set of this limited edition, being no.881 out of 1000 published. First English translation with an introduction by Anatole de Montaiglon. Bound in green silk with gilt embossed vignette to the front boards and lettering to the spines. Illustrated with 15 b/w plates with tissue guards, including a frontispiece plate to volume I - all as called for. There is light rubbing to the board and spine edges and the cloth at the head and tail of the spine is lightly turned in. Two board corners are bumped to both volumes and there are a few light stain marks to the boards. One split to the outer hinge of volume I measuring 1 cm and one split to the outer hinge of volume II measuring 2 cm in length. Slight split to the inner hinges of Volume I, though the boards to both volumes remain firm and tight. There are no inscriptions…
