Light brown boards with black insert on front, gilt on spine. Spine is darkened with a small stain near the center and front board shows scratches and wear. That makes this copy unique is the original owner, whose bookplates or on the front pastedown. The bookplates (there are two) belong to Edward Martin, also known as General Martin, who was elected governor of Pennsylvania in 1943 and served as a U.S. senator. This book is from his private library in the second bookplate shows his name along with his wife, Charity. Were no signatures or handwriting noted in the book though some pages have smudge prints. The rear board shows the label advertising the subject of the book. See photos.
