A superb copy , 238pp. bound in full, rich red morocco with morocco doublures and silk in an edition of 12 specially bound by the Knickerbocker Press for the father of the author. Two letters laid in from Francis H. Saltus (author's father) to Edna M. Green. Francis Saltus Saltus (as he was known) led a gang of bohemians including his brother James and a Young James Huneker whose desire for absinthe was mixed with a devotion to the erotic and sensuous. (See Yungfrau, p. 19, Ophelia, p.31, and the Awakening, P. 230.) Laid in: From Francis H. Saltus (writing at the age 103) to Miss Greene who knew his sone though she was a member of the DAR. Bound in Harmatan leather with Cockerell Marbled endsheets. It has been letterpress printed on Zerkall book and typeset in Montotype Bembo and Monotype Poliphus. The only two copies in the fine binding that have been identified are at the Amon Carter Museum of American Art and the Mayer Library at the Dallas Museum of Art. Each plate is hand mounted. A beautiful copy.

Tan cloth over clamshell box with green spine cloth, lime green acrylic label on cover and green speckled marbling on box edges, enclosed are twenty-six miniature books (scrolls) in various media such as paper and wood (scrolls are non-removable), in fine condition.Alvey Jones is a painter, printmaker and book artist whose work has been exhibited locally and nationally and is in many public and private collections in the United States and Europe. He has a BFA in illustration and design, an MA in art history and he mostly creates miniature books. This book is an homage to the famed ancient library at Alexandria, Egypt, which ceased to exist by the end of the Third century CE and contains miniature books (scrolls) in several languages

Each volume with red morocco title label, decorated and lettered in gilt. Some rubbing and chipping to most volumes and a few hinges cracked but all still holding. Overall an attractive set of eighteenth century bindings. Previous owners bookplate on front paste downs.

Drake in The Jungle Book, just Kipling in the second Jungle book. Fine, clean copies. Fine leather bindings, by Bumpus, of mid twentieth century half dark red morocco. Spines with five raised bands, compartments ruled in blind and lettered in gilt. Red cloth on boards. Top edges gilt. Marbled endpapers. Just a hint of darkening to the spines of both bindings but overall this is a near fine, lovely set of these classic books.

Finely bound in a contemporary full dark green morocco binding by Ramage of London. Spine with five raised bands, ruled in gilt. The compartments with gilt ruled lines, flower and star designs and lettering. Decorative flower and leaf designs to both boards, within a wavy line border which is surrounded by multiple stars, within a ruled line border, all in gilt. Elaborate gilt tooled stars, flowers and decorative roll borders to the inner boards with off-white moire silk endpapers. All edges gilt. Previous owners neat inscription, dated 1914, to the front blank free endpaper. Spine faded to an attractive tan colour and the front board to a lighter green but still a beautiful fine binding from the library of W. A.
