Facsimile reprint of the Crosby, Lee & Company of Boston edition of 1860. 2 b&w frontispieces, all pages with black double border and decorative initial capitals in b&w. An alphabetical arrangement of flowers, bushes & trees, giving a very brief botanical description followed by the sentiment that plant represents and poetical quotes about that sentiment. For example: Valerian represents an 'Accommodating Disposition' and the quotes include "Kindness in women, not their beauteous looks, Shall win my love." by Shakespeare and Zinnia represents 'Absence' as described by Dryden, "Love reckons hours for months, and days for years; And every little absence is an age." Concludes with an Index of Flowers and an Index of Interpretations. Interior - clean and tight with no previous ownership marks. Exterior - small soft corner crease on rear cover, tiny bump at top of front hinge.. Facsimilie Reprint. Soft Cover. Very Good.
