London: Whittaker and Co, 1833 - 34. 1st Edition . Good. 5.5 x 8.5 inches (14 x 21.5 cm). Volume I (complete in 10 issues) and Volume II (complete in 12 issues) bound as one. Quarter leather with cloth covered boards, spine heavily worn with loss to leather and splits to joints. Front board a little loose but securely held by cords. Text block is solidly bound, some light foxing, otherwise very clean throughout. 27 hand coloured plates. Overall condition is Good. Size: 5.5 x 8.5 inches (14 x 21.5 cm). Hardback. Printed pages: 260, 308, 8, 8, 4

This is the complete annual of articles on all aspects of flowers including orchids and roses, including lists of new and rare plants, with submissions from various authors. The hand coloured plates were engraved by J. & J. Parkin, some from Harrison's drawings, mostly depicting several varieties of flowers, all quite colorful. Two volumes, handsomely bound by Sotheran, Sackville Street, London, years 1855 and 1856. pp332 Volume 1855 with 12 highly attractive hand-coloured plates, all with tissue guards, very clean, slight toning to just a few pages, no inscriptions or annotation. pp 372 and bound to the back the pp33 Gardener's and Naturalist's Almanack 1856. Half leather bindings by Sotheran, gilt decoration and lettering to spine, title label to each volume, some loss of colour to the spines, but with lustre and strong, no cracking. A very good pair with fine bright plates and some in text diagrams..
