London: The Field, 1859. First edition. Hardcover. Good. John Leech. 5 x 7 1/2 in. 114 pgs. Red blindstamped cloth boards with gilt lettering and gent on horseback on cover, gilt lettering on spine. 6 color plates, including frontis, all present. Origanl cloth binding. Hand-colored engravings by John Leech. Condition of book is GOOD+ ; corners and edges worn, covers and spine faded, old repair to upper spine, both upper and lower spine missing some cloth, but overall a very nice copy of this scarce, delightful book, in original cloth. Binding is solid and text clean, with some faint browning and some very mild foxing to plates. Earlier owner's bookplate on front pastedown. Sport. RGR.
