Handsomely bound in original tan suede with coloured lure onlaid on upper left corner of both volumes. Inner edges gilt, white silk endpapers and printed on handmade paper. Vol. I: xxvii, 313 p.p. Beautiful colour frontispiece of an Atlantic Salmon, ; Vol. II: xi, 368 p.p. Frontispiece of Frank M. Johnson. Illustrated throughout with [8] richly coloured lithographs and [62] detailed b/w plates of salmon, trout, pike, walleye, their special flies and lures, as well as landscapes and fly fishing scenes. All tissue guards present. Features many of the authors own articles, songs, and poems, and those collected from noted anglers, including Archibald Mitchell, Edward Thomas Davies Chambers, and William Harris. Light rubbing to covers. Slight bruising and heavy wear at corners. Some tearing to suede spine ends and covers. Spine labels missing. Roughly cut edges, and some unopened pages. Sporadic stains to leaves. Else near fine.
