Forever the Farm

by Rawson, Marion Nicholl

Condition: Good+ in Good+ dust jacket

E. P. Dutton. Good+ in Good+ dust jacket. 1939. 1st Edition; 1st Printing. Hardcover. Hardcover with dustjacket, first printing as stated on copyright page, "as the name implies, is devoted entirely to the farm - and especially the typical farms of the past - The farmers' actual conversations are reported and are no small part of the charm of this lovely and unusual book." Embellished with many superb drawings by the author, not a perfect copy but still quite presentable, the cloth binding has mild brown spotting (foxing) near the borders of the front cover, it is more prevalent on the rear cover and the spine is moderately tanned, the green and gold illustrated end-papers also have moderate tanning, and a small number of the later pages have a few small tanned areas, this is fairly insignificant and overall the contents are very clean and the binding is tight, the jacket is tanned on the spine and a 1/2-inch open tear is present, the rear panel is also tanned with some dark soiling as well, the front panel has a 1/4-inch edge-chip at the bottom but otherwise is quite nice, the illustration of a farm yard is clean and attractive, the flaps are also in great shape, the original price (5.00) is present and a professional (removable) mylar cover is included .
