Cocked spine with rubbed edges, light soiling to back cover; overall very good condition. Many interesting articles in this beautiful publication, plus elegant color and black and white advertisements. Articles include Pullman Incorporated, with paintings by Adolf Dehn; The Federal Tax System; South America II: Peru with color map by Richard Edes Harrison and more. Of particular note is a full page color advertisement by early aviation artist Charles H. Hubbell for Thompson Products featuring a propeller plane with the title: "...On Time Over Cheyenne (United Air Lines - 1938) Douglas DC-4..." New Year themed cover illustration of neon signs with a clock in the center by Antonio Petruccelli. Founded by Henry Luce (who had, with partner Briton Hadden, founded Time magazine in 1923), Luce declared of Fortune magazine that "American business has importance - even majesty - so the magazine in which we are able to interpret it will look and feel important - even majestic." .
