The Fountainhead by Rand, Ayn - 1943

First Edition, First Printing with the words "First Edition" printed on the copyright page. This copy is SIGNED by Ayn Rand on a typed letter laid into the book. In the letter, Rand writes to Edgar Carter, an assistant to her literary agent, H.N. "Swanie" Swanson: "I am enclosing the copies of our agency agreement which I have signed. Would you please return one of the copies to me after Mr. Swanson has signed them." The letter dates from the same year The Fountainhead was adapted into the classic film from her 1944 screenplay. In addition to Rand, Swanson's extraordinary roster of clients included F. Scott Fitzgerald, William Faulkner, Pearl Buck, and Raymond Chandler. The book is great shape with light wear to the boards and page edges. The book is bound in the ORIGINAL publisher's Red Cloth and comes with a beautiful facsimile dustjacket from the original. A wonderful copy of this TRUE FIRST EDITION.
