Philadelphia: J. B. Lippincott & Co.. VG+/NONE. 1864. Early Edition. Hardcover. Rare, dark green textured cloth with gilt lettered spine. HOWES W373, FORSTER 101. Six pages of ads in rear of book. An interesting account of Whitecar aboard the whaleship, originating from New Bedford, Mass and returning with voyages in the Pacific, South Atlantic, Indian Oceans, and then whaling off southwest Australia, Tasmania, and New Zealand. Binding lightly recoated in size, (glue substance originally put in cloth of bound books that makes the binding a bit shiny, fresh and preserved). Very light extremity wear, rub. Wear mainly to spine tips, corners. Some light and occasional foxing to text pages. A nice copy. ; 413 pages .
