About This Item

1806. framed. This print commemorating the Death of Admiral Nelson was published by Peter Barnaschina on February 1, 1806 [73 Leather Lane, Holborn]. It measures 10 x 14 inches and titled: "A Tribute of Gratitude to British Valour and Intrepidity." Vivid colors with just a hint of fading at the bottom text, as is common with this issue. Housed in its original frame, measuring 12 x 16 inches, with a replacement wood backing containing remnants of a British tabloid dated 1862 (still adhered). Very good condition overall. Accompanied by the book "Nelson Commemorated in Glass Pictures" by Le Quesne, Antique Collectors Club, 2001, with the above glass print prominently illustrated as plate No. 44 on page 66.<br/> <br/>
