Royal octavo (9 3/4" x 6 1/2") bound in original publisher's blue cloth with gilt lettering to spine in original plain jacket. Western Frontiersman Series XVI. First edition. François Xavier Aubry (1824-1854) was a French Canadian merchant and explorer of the American Southwest. His achievements include speed records riding the Santa Fe Trail and early exploration of the 35th parallel north west of the North American continental divide. Jacket in brown paper with spin ends rubbed else a very good copy in a near fine jacket.
