Former owner's name and date on ffep. Spine is tight and crisp, very slightly cocked. Boards are flat and true and the corners are square, light edge foxing. Dust jacket is not price-clipped with light edge rubbing. This collectible, " NEAR FINE" condition first edition/first printing copy is protected with a polyester archival dust jacket cover. Very nice, highly collectible copy. Scarce first printing book of Salinger's third book. GIFT QUALITY
Synopsis
Franny and Zooey is J. D. Salinger's third book, published as such in 1961, its two parts having originally appeared as a short story and a novella in The New Yorker in 1955 and 1957, respectively. Franny and Zooey, a sister and brother both in their 20s, are the two youngest members of the Glass family, which was a frequent focus of Salinger's writings. The action of both parts takes place over a long weekend in November 1955.
