1942 Orgone Institute Press first American edition. 368 pages. Originally published in German in 1927. English translation by Theodore Wolfe. Very uncommon with the dust jacket.
The book was published as Volume One of a two volume offering entitled "The Discovery of the Orgone". And if you don't know about Wilhelm Reich, I can't even begin to explain him in a book listing.
The prior owner of the book, H.F. Noyes, has written his name and address on the front free endpaper. Dr. Noyes was a practicing Jungian therapist in NYC until 1970. Noyes gained a higher degree of fame after 1970, in his semi-retirement, as a poet and writer of haiku.
I should also caution potential buyers, this is an academic work, albeit a somewhat flaky academic work.
Condition of the book is Very Good Minus. The binding is straight and sound. Other than Noyes' writing on the endpaper, inside pages are complete and unmarked. The main condition issue is age toned inside pages.
Condition of the dust jacket is Very Good Minus. The DJ is complete, not price clipped. It shows moderate wear to the edges and folds. Scotch tape (decades old) has been applied to the exterior of the DJ, at the spine and flap folds. That said, the DJ presents well in a new mylar cover.
