    James Vance May (1873–1947) was the Superintendent of Boston State Hospital. Having worked at several mental hospitals, he was an early supporter of classifying mental illness as a public health issue.
    WorldCat could not locate any institutional copies. In tan paper wrappers; small stain to rear wrapper, staples rusting. One corner creased; interior unmarked.
