Illustrated with over 360 black & white plates, with a few in color. #5 of a limited edition of 100 copies. Bound in 3/4 vellum and grey paper covered boards. Boards have shelf-wear present to the extremities. Previous owner's name present to the FFEP. Text is clean and free of marks. Binding tight and solid. A standard reference work on the furniture of the 17th and 18th centuries. English furniture has developed largely in line with styles in the rest of northern Europe, but has been interpreted in a distinctive fashion. There were significant regional differences in style, for example between the North Country and the West Country. E-31; 4to 11" - 13" tall; 238 pages .
