About This Item
Bradbury, Agnew & Company, London, 1905. First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good/Poor. 200 pages (complete). A courtly copy. Until the Windsor Fire of 1992 provided a catharsis for change, the publications (as such there were) from The Royal Collection, were occasional, grand, assiduous rather than appreciative, proud and noble. This book about the furniture at Windsor (most of which can still be seen in the State Apartments) is one such example. Quarter leather. The wrapper has a clear cellophane protective cover. The wrapper is much worn, torn all about. Ivory coloured cloth covered boards. The front face has the cipher of Edward VII stamped in scarlet and gold. Leathered spine in excellent, handsome condition. Gilt titling and borders. The contents are most satisfying. The paper trims are flecked with foxing. Thick, hand-laid paper. Tissue protection sheets. The pages are very healthy, bold, very confident, clean, clear, magisterial, assiduous, dutiful, irreplaceable. Please note that due to the weight of the book, should the book need be posted to outside of South Africa, extra postal charges may be required. fk. Our orders are shipped using tracked courier delivery services.
